These cards are a lot like gift cards. You load the amount of money you want on the card then use it at the pump or in the gas station just like a debit card. In addition to utilizing discount cards you may also want to implement some gas saving tips when driving and maintaining your vehicle. There are plenty of tips that can help you increase mileage no matter what kind of car you drive.
For example, did you know that idling your car or revving the engine can waste gas? Also, warming your car up for longer than 45 seconds is a big waste also. Keep your speed steady, make sure to go for regular tune ups, keep your tires well inflated and don't haul heavy items in your trunk regularly. When combined with discount fuel cards strategies like these can help you spend less in gas which means more money in your pocket.
